Day by day

Day 1 — Nairobi – Met Station Camp (3,050 m)

Distance: 9 km

Hiking time: 3–4 hours

Accommodation: Met Station

Drive to Naromoru Gate and warm-up hike through bamboo zones.

Day 2 — Met Station – Mackinder’s Camp (4,200 m)

Distance: 10 km

Hiking time: 5–6 hours

Accommodation: Mackinder’s Camp

Trek through Vertical Bog into Teleki Valley.

Day 3 — Mackinder’s Camp – Austrian Hut (4,790 m)

Distance: 5 km

Hiking time: 3–4 hours

Accommodation: Austrian Hut

Hike to technical climbing base with acclimatization trek to Pt. Lenana.

Day 4 — Technical Climb – Batian or Nelion (5,199 m)

Accommodation: High bivy or Mackinder’s Camp

Technical ascent of Batian or Nelion; requires prior technical experience.

Day 6 — Mackinder’s Camp – Met Station Camp

Hiking time: 4–5 hours

Accommodation: Met Station

Descend back through Teleki Valley and the bog.

Day 7 — Met Station – Naromoru Gate – Transfer to Nairobi

Final leg to park gate and drive back to Nairobi.
